Psar Nat, also written Phsar Nath, is the central heritage market. Start from this landmark when asking a host about location. Boeng Chhuk is a separate market: a listing that says “near the market” needs clarification.
A practical shortlist
Chhaya’s published Street 3 address and Pomme’s Street 2.5 location provide specific town-street references. Riverbank properties require a different comparison: check the bridge and the route back after dinner. Do not substitute a straight-line distance for an actual walking route.
Check the room, not just the neighbourhood
Ask for a room away from traffic if you sleep early. Check whether windows open onto a busy street, whether stairs are involved and where pickup vehicles can stop. An upper floor may be quieter but unsuitable for someone who cannot use stairs.
Plan a first afternoon
Leave luggage, walk towards the market and the river, and identify your return route in daylight. Keep a saved map pin and the accommodation name on your phone. Avoid arranging a time-critical onward connection immediately after an uncertain arrival.
