Food delivery in Cambodia: apps, addresses and costs

Compare foodpanda and GrabFood, set a usable delivery address and understand what changes between a city centre and an island.

Operator sources and editorial guidance

Public sources reviewed on 5 October 2026. Service coverage and checkout terms require an address-specific check. Practical suggestions are editorial guidance; Robert’s recollections are explicitly attributed.

Start with the address, not the app ranking

A delivery app is useful only if it can serve your actual building at the time you want to order. Enter the hotel, apartment or house pin before comparing menus. A city-wide landing page is evidence that the service markets that destination; it does not guarantee service on every road, across a river, or throughout the surrounding province.

For travellers, the most useful first check is often reception: ask where riders should stop, whether outside food is allowed in your room, and whether someone can reach you if the gate is closed. Do this before placing an order rather than during the rider’s arrival.

Two services to investigate

foodpanda maintains Cambodia city pages, including Battambang, Kampot, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville. Grab’s Cambodia food page describes its Phnom Penh service. Search the current app for other locations rather than extending that description to the whole country.

Older guides may recommend Nham24 as a separate competing service. Grab announced its acquisition of Nham24’s Cambodian operations on 30 December 2024. That dated announcement is useful context; follow the current official app instructions instead of relying on old screenshots or voucher advice.

Compare the amount you will actually pay

Record the meal total, delivery fee, any small-order or service charge, and the conditions attached to a discount. A free-delivery banner does not necessarily make one basket cheaper than another. Check minimum spend and whether the offer requires a payment method you can use.

For a group staying together, one combined order can simplify the handover, but verify that the selected restaurant can prepare the complete order. Agree which person pays and receives it. Do not assume that several restaurants in one app will arrive together.

Make the handover simple

Use a reachable phone number and a precise entrance description. A map pin can lead to the wrong side of a building or a locked gate. Add a recognisable landmark without publishing unnecessary personal information. Monitor messages after ordering, especially if the accommodation name differs from the name shown on maps.

Choose from the payment methods actually offered at checkout. If paying cash, check the displayed currency and arrange suitable notes. Retain the order record until missing or incorrect items have been resolved through the platform’s support process.

Cities, countryside and islands

A town address and a secluded riverside bungalow have different logistics. Before depending on delivery, check whether groceries, meals and transport are all available where you plan to stay. On an island, ask the accommodation about its own meals, nearby restaurants and last practical arrival time. A mainland food-delivery service is not evidence of a boat-delivery option.

Treat app delivery as one tool alongside neighbourhood markets, local restaurants and direct shopping. It is particularly convenient for arrival evenings and longer stays, but it should not determine the whole experience of a destination.
