Battambang after the day trip: food, bars and a circus evening
Plan a Battambang evening around the city centre, a social restaurant or Phare, with practical choices for different kinds of traveller.

A full day around Banan or Phnom Sampeau can finish later than a simple map suggests. Instead of booking three fixed evening stops, choose one priority and leave dinner flexible. Staying near the heritage streets makes it easier to compare nearby places, while an out-of-town hotel may suit people who want to finish the day quietly. Ask about the return journey before leaving for a distant attraction rather than improvising it when everyone is tired.
A named starting point on Street 2.5
Pomme’s own website describes a bar, restaurant and hostel on Street 2.5 in Battambang. It is a concrete option to investigate for food and a social setting, rather than a claim about the city’s “best” bar. Confirm current service, table arrangements and the atmosphere you want directly. Its Battambang location is distinct from the related Siem Reap venue. We have not conducted an independent inspection or agreed a commercial partnership with this business.
Make Phare the main event
Phare Ponleu Selpak publishes the Battambang circus programme on its own website. The venue is associated with its arts school, and should not be confused with the Phare visitor venue in Siem Reap. Check the dated programme and book the correct city. Arrange time for the journey, arrival and return instead of counting only the performance. A campus tour and an evening show are different activities; do not assume one ticket includes both.
Choose the evening that fits your group
An early meal, performance or quiet café can be a complete night out. A group does not need to share the same drinking preferences to spend time together. Ask about music and seating if conversation matters, and about food ingredients if someone needs clear dietary information. Avoid describing any venue as reliably family-friendly solely because it serves meals: check the actual event, timing and setting for your party.
Connect culture and sport without rushing
A Kun Khmer session at KKB can be another reason to extend your Battambang stay, but observation or participation must be agreed with the club. Training is not a bar attraction or a guaranteed evening show. KKB is a related project directed by this publication’s founder. Keep that encounter separate from Phare and other businesses, allow time to change and eat, and choose transport home before the evening begins.
