Phnom Penh accommodation: ten addresses for different kinds of stay

Compare Phnom Penh by accommodation style: a social hostel, a garden hotel, a heritage property, a contemporary luxury address or an apartment with space to live. These named starting points cover very different trips.

Social and central: Onederz Phnom Penh

Onederz Phnom Penh is a hostel option in the riverside area. Begin here if shared travel spaces matter and you want to compare a hostel stay with a conventional hotel. Check the exact category available for your dates, bathroom arrangement and location of the room. The word hostel describes a format, not a promise that every guest wants the same level of social activity or nighttime noise.

Garden hotels: Plantation and Pavilion

Plantation Urban Resort & Spa lists standard rooms through to studios, family accommodation and a rooftop suite, with pools in a central garden setting. It offers a useful range when a mixed party needs different rooms at one address. Pavilion occupies restored villas on Street 19 and is particularly relevant to travellers looking for an intimate property. Its published guidance generally sets a minimum guest age of 16; check this before including it in a family shortlist.

Boutique comfort: White Mansion and Baitong

White Mansion on Street 240 is a rooms-and-suites choice in the historic centre and welcomes families. Consider it when the palace district is the main focus of a short stay. Baitong Hotel & Resort is in BKK1, with categories differentiated by city, garden or pool setting. The practical comparison is between two neighbourhoods as well as two properties: work out where you will eat, meet friends and spend your mornings before deciding which surroundings fit.

A special stay: Raffles and Rosewood

Raffles Hotel Le Royal represents Phnom Penh’s grand heritage-hotel tradition; the original hotel dates from 1929. Rosewood Phnom Penh offers a contemporary luxury alternative in Vattanac Capital. These are useful candidates when accommodation, dining and time at the property are a substantial part of the trip. Compare the full stay rather than the lead room price: breakfast, room size, cancellation terms and the actual services you intend to use. A famous address does not automatically make a particular category right for your party.

More independence: Somerset, Citadines and Oakwood

Somerset Norodom Phnom Penh offers serviced apartments in Chamkar Mon, including larger multi-bedroom categories. Citadines Flatiron Phnom Penh lists hotel rooms as well as studios and apartments in Phnom Penh City Centre. Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh also combines hotel rooms with serviced apartments. Book the category that contains the facilities you need; a hotel room in a residence-branded property may differ substantially from its apartment inventory. These three are useful starting points for comparing cooking space and separate bedrooms.

Make the comparison on equal terms

Request the same dates and party size from each shortlisted property. Give children’s ages, ask for the bed arrangement in writing and compare the total payable amount with taxes and extras. Check whether breakfast covers every occupant, whether an airport pickup is included or separately priced, and what happens if arrival is delayed. For mobility needs, describe the required route from vehicle to room and bathroom. A short list with clear answers is more useful than dozens of unverified names.
